Burt Fazi, MD, FACS

Dr. Fazi has been treating venous and cardiovascular disease for over 25 years. He is a Board Certified Cardiovascular surgeon. He is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.

Dr. Fazi graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1978 from West Virginia University with a degree in chemistry and he is a graduate of the West Virginia University School of Medicine class of 1982. While at West Virginia University School of Medicine he received honors in pathology, microbiology, pharmacology, surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery. He is also currently an adjunct professor at the West Virginia University School of Medicine.

Dr. Fazi underwent his general surgical training at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA and served as a Chief Resident during his final year of training. He worked as a general surgical resident under Dr. Collier, during both of Dr. Collier’s chief residency years. Dr. Fazi then pursued a fellowship in cardiovascular surgery at Allegheny General Hospital.

Dr. Fazi was instrumental in developing the cardiac program in Altoona, PA and served as the director of cardiac services prior to joining the Sewickley Vein Center in 2012. He has extensive experience in cardiac surgery and the treatment of venous disease and has been working with both since 1989.
